Customize Snagit 13 Editor Toolbar

I've now customized my toolbar is Editor 3 times, but when I close and reopen, it reverts to the default settings. What am I doing incorrectly?

Also - please allow ME to pick the default tool, and not force me to change from the arrow every single time.

Thanks!

Same problem here.  I lose my customization in the toolbar and all my quick styles each time I shutdown.

I really HATE that dirty great big red arrow, and curse roundly every time I try to just SELECT something!

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

If there isn't a patch to fix this behaviour I will be reverting to V11, I reckon!

YES!!!

It is completely illogical to have anything other than selection as the default tool.

Tech Smith when will you fix this? My whole workflow is messed up! I have reverted to using V12 due to this and many other issues, after paying for an upgrade. Where was your QA on V13??

Tech Support suggested running both Snagit 13 and the Editor as an administrator (I'm on a PC with win10 upgrade).  This worked for me, but since I'm used to using the ESC key to close the editor in between captures, snagging a new capture would not automatically launch the Editor anymore. Nonetheless, my toolbar customization and quickstyles were retained and that was more important so I just clicked somewhere else on the screen to hide the Editor.  This worked for a week, about 50 captures daily.

A few days ago I installed Snagit 13 on a brand new PC (win10 fresh install) and this taskbar/quickstyles issue has not appeared while running Snagit in normal mode (2 days, 60 or captures).  Seems like a lot of my programs run better so it could be an issue with upgrading to windows 10 over an old windows 7 install that had accumulated a lot gremlins along the way or had conflicting components.

I haven't customized my toolbar much (obviously a waste of time), but I do have to re-add the Save button every time I start. And I can't tell you how many times I've drawn an arrow when I just meant to select the object. I agree with everything previous posters have said. This needs to be fixed pronto!

agreed This is a productivity loss for power users
either remove the default arrow selection or provide a function where user can store their own defaults

My toolbar appears to be more stable now, but it took a couple of tries to get Snagit to remember shortcut key settings (which had apparently been reset to the default by the upgrade).

I'm on version 13.0.3 and I'm having this issue, it's extremely frustrating and counterproductive. The issue doesn't appear to be fixed...

Some buttons I keep adding; others I've given up on. I don't understand why some of the buttons that were standard in previous versions (such as the selection tool) are so hard to access in this version.

You probably need to backup your settings and saved presets, uninstall. reboot your machine. Reinstall. That is how it worked for me.
If you still have problems. Try to get in touch with support.

Also you can make selection button where you want it.
Click in the toolbar where it say MORE.
Then scroll down to CUSTOMIZE.
from there you can drag the icons where you want them in the toolbar. I like that function.

I had to completely uninstall/reinstall to get the diminished version of the toolbar.

Feature Request: Anything from the drop down menus can go in the toolbar. (Like Resize, each rotate option, etc)
