--Original Content Below--
Prior to launching this round up off, we would like to let everyone know that we will be updating those Ideas from June's roundups that we have information on, so keep an eye out on those. You can find our list of June's Camtasia roundup here and Snagit's roundup here. Any comments regarding past roundups will be moved to the appropriate location as this post is here to highlight new suggestions from the community.

The purpose of this Camtasia round-up, which will be active from today. Monday, December 18th, 2017 to January 2nd, 2017, is to take the top feature suggestions from July 1st, 2017 through to December 11th, 2017. "Top Ideas" are defined by the number of "Me Too's" that a thread has so make sure to click on that "Me Too" button on Ideas that you find would work for you. Please note that no ideas posted in the comments of this topic will be added to the current round up; if you have an Idea that you would like to submit for a roundup, please do so by creating a new thread and sharing it via your colleagues, social channels, and champaion its cause here in the TechSmith Community Forums. Though this may change, the next roundup is likely to be in/around June of 2018, so make sure you get out there and share your Ideas!

Again, thank you for your continued support and remember, if you are experiencing technical difficulties or would like to report a possible bug, please open a ticket.

I like to be able to create custom animation easing, it coulb easily be visualized by a graph of the x/t diagram, with the posibility to edit that graph.

Why are threads that are more popular than the ones listed, like reinstate mp3, not included in this roundup?

I understand the licensing concern for it, but this could be architected as an add-on or addressed in any number of ways if there is demand - as it happens, I'm a licensing professional :)

164 votes and counting for it - it at least deserves a mention / discussion. We are being asked to champion things, but if you are ignoring the vote counts on existing requests it seems a bit hollow.

Yeah, and over 200 for reversing the video clip; on their "not planned" list.

1.) Color Grading - Ability to use LUTs. Popular & affordable video cameras today need color grading, how about providing a LUT for common platforms like DJI Phantom 4 or GoPro Hero? I find myself color grading in Resolve then importing to Camtasia. I choose Camtasia for the quick and easy work flow.

2.) Reverse the clip. Again, annoyed at having to use another program for this.

3.) Ability to handle higher frame rates and export at higher res. 60fps | 2K | 4K

Yes yes yes on the reverse clip. That was the 4th item I couldn't remember in my post yesterday.

Closed captions availablity such as multiple subtitle files chosen from a menu when playing the video. This is needed more and more as video training is changing on the web. I realise it is in the player and need to be able to upload these subtitle files along with the video so the user can select their language of subtitles. I run online training courses and the camtasia files are limited along with the players that use Closed Captions such as youtube and other LMS such as Thinkific.

I would love better video compression options: support for h265, dual pass, etc. Of course, it's possible to trick with alternative codecs, but because of the current restrictions, if you want to export videos to YouTube, you need to drastically increase the bitrate to keep a good quality.
Most of the time, I export with the Camtasia V1 Codec and then recompress with MediaCoder. Quite a lot of steps :)

Also I think Camtasia should look as well for the recording at streamers and what they do. A lot of them (myself included) are using OBS to record their stream, but I still use Camtasia to keep it clean. But quickly come the audio conflicts with system audio not recorded in Camtasia.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

We would like to thank everyone for their participation in this voting period, which has now ended. As mentioned in the opening thread,

"Please note that no ideas posted in the comments of this topic will be added to the current round up; if you have an Idea that you would like to submit for a roundup, please do so by creating a new thread and sharing it via your colleagues, social channels, and champion its cause here in the TechSmith Community Forums."
For those that have submitted ideas to this thread, please create a new suggestion here by first searching for the Idea (see here) and if there is an existing thread covering your suggestion, please vote for it (do not create a new thread). If your Idea is not listed you can create a new thread by clicking on the "Continue Creating Conversation" link at the bottom of the page (see here). Once you have filled out your new suggestion, simply click "Post" to submit it to the community (see here). Submitting a suggestion in this fashion may see it added to the next round up, which will take place mid-2018, assuming it is a popular topic with the community (based on Vote Counts). You can vote for ideas by clicking on the "Vote" button that is located on the Idea article (see here).

With the ending of this round of voting here, we will be updating this thread with the vote counts then reviewing it internally, once we have more information to share we will update the individual

Thank you again for your participation and we look forward what 2018 brings us!

Please be sure to head on over to our Statuses post for a refresher as we will be changing of the statuses on those suggestions in this roundup.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about the process!

Hey Robert

I love what was done to show the vote counts.

What would be helpful would be to also include the status (Planned, Not planned, Under Consideration, or whatever) to follow the vote count totals. That way we could quickly see at a glance without having to click and look at the threads in order to see if it's planned or whatever.

I know, I'm a PITA. ;)

Cheers... Rick :)

Hi Rick!

Thanks for the feedback; I am currently working on the HTML to do just that; expect this page to look a lot like our last roundup's page (see here). I wanted to get the counts out now that we've updated the statuses on the individual threads, more edits will come to help clean things up a bit.

Thanks!

any chance you could just list the current "status" next to the vote counts above?

Hey Robert, I know a lot of people are confused by the missing but popular topics like 60 fps and MP3 output - and it feels like a joke to tell us to go comment on the threads for those, respectively, when those already are not being reflected in your roundup. What's going on?

Hi nlias and thanks for stopping by;

The reason you are not seeing existing requests like 60fps and MP3 output is because they have been included in a previous roundup and have official responses on each. You can check the status on the 60fps here and the MP3 output response here. If you're not sure what the statuses mean then we have a handy thread over here that you can check out for more information.

Hi Robert,

OK, this is even more mysterious now.... 60 fps I get, it's shown as planned, it's a done deal.

For MP3, how do we, the users, get this thing moved from "not planned" to "planned"? The process you've provided is that you would include popular threads for consideration - what do we need to do to move this popular thread back into the hopper? Apparently all the votes in the world won't do it, since you are disregarding vote totals for it - what WILL do it?
