Decrease Selection

I have complained about this every single release following Camtasia 8. But for some reason it gets ignored. In Camtasia 9 the arrow keys were replaced with the < and > (or more accurately , and .) - but where Shift+Right Increased the selection and Shift+Left decreased it, the new keys did not. Shift+. (>) does increase the selection to the right but Shift+, (<) jumps the head away from where I'm working back to the beginning!! Why?! And worse: it increases the selection to the left!
Here is the use case: I use , and . to find the exact frame I want to start the selection. I press Shift+. to start selection. I keep pressing it increasing the selection but overshoots by one frame. So I want to press Shift+, to decrease the selection, but instead, the head jumps to the beginning and changes my carefully selected starting point of the selection! Now I have to reach for the mouse every time.

I have bought every version since Camtasia 8 hoping for this one feature to return. I eventually took the plunge and bought 2019 since I saw I can now assign different hotkeys. But alas you have "Extend Selection Right" and "Extend Selection Left" but there is still no "Decrease selection left/right". I have now bought the Maintenance to get 2020. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this for 2020, it's really painful and I am not sure my company will let me keep on upgrading.
