Defining Save Location for Snagit 2020

Since upgrading to Snagit 2020, I've lost the ability to have the location where I save .png files from Snagit image captures, be defined by me. It always reverts back to attempting to save the file in the auto-saved captures location.

I've gone to the preferences and set the path I want (see screenshot - I want them to save to my downloads folder), but it doesn't honor my selection.

Any idea how I can define where "Save As" files are saved by default? It is super annoying to have to change it every. single. time.

I'm on a Mac, running Catalina 10.15.1.

Wrong place! Go over to the Advanced tab. About half way down that screen you will see the place to edit your Autosave Location.  :)

So, I thought this was it too and got excited when I saw it. However, for me, when I do that, Snagit is changing the location of the full capture library, not just the ones that I am exporting. I went through that exercise prior to posting this (probably should have mentioned that). Is that your experience too? Appreciate your comment!

Mac's share to file menu is set up differently than Windows.
Being a Windows user, I cannot test its functionality for you.
On Windows it works correctly, which I realize is irrelevant.

If your settings mimic whats worked for you in the past. I suspect you may have a bug?
Catalina's been associated with a number of issues.
Some due to new security protocols.

This may be an issue for support

Maybe there is a bug. Here's a shot of the Mac share options. The bug that I think I have encountered is that when one chooses Add Another Option, absolutely nothing happens. And I think this may be related to the problem that Stacey has presented. (I'm on macOS 10.5.2.)

Hi Stacey,

Are you running version 2020.0.0? This was an issue that came up in Catalina that should have been fixed in 2020.0.1
