Discard Files and Changes but not my project folders

Every once in a while, SnagIt asks if I want to discard unsaved files and changes. I would love to but I learned the hard way it finds the images I thought were just in the Open Captures Tray wherever I've stored them ... and deletes them! So, suddenly, my desktop publishing, video, and web folders are missing assets. It is quite possible I don't know what I'm doing -- I don't use SnagIt for anything but the initial capture (for me, anything else is Photoshop's job).

I see you haven't received a reply to this question yet.  You stated it's a problem with Snagit, but you posted in the Camtasia section.  You might want to repost in the Snagit section.

I've had a similar problem with Camtasia:  if I delete a clip from the library, and that clip has actually been saved to disk, it deletes the file from the disk as well.  Darn nuisance.  I think there should be an option there...
