Deleting files/folders related to old versions

I'm trying to make sure my mac doesn't have any redundant files. When I installed snagIt 2018, there was another "snagit" in my applications, which I deleted. However, when I go to ~/Library/Application Support/TechSmith I see 3 Snagit folders:

-Snagit
-Snagit Previous Version
-Snagit Previous Version 2018

My question is, what are all the different files/folders I can safely delete in my mac that are related to old Snagit versions? 

I'm currently running version 2018.2.6 (90461).

Hi,

Snagit and Snagit Previous Version are from Snagit 4 or earlier, so you can remove those safely. Snagit Previous Version 2018 is needed if you ever want to revert to the previous version of 2018 that you had installed.

Most of Snagit's files have been moved to a new location, but that was done recently so there shouldn't be much old data there.

this is a good question for windows also, I have had snagit for several years on several different computers.  they have not provided good instructions on how to save or move your data from one machine to another or how to insure you do not inadvertently delete saved work.  I stated several years ago doing "save as" for all captures and video's to a portable hard drive after losing all my work due to a hard drive crash.  This has been a blessing as I had the same issue last year and had to reload software but, I didn't care because I had a backup for all my work anyway.

Lots of problems with 2019, and it's a shame we have to keep coming to this forum to get information. TechSmith needs to fix snagit, provide better customer reach out to explain how to do things.  The fact that Luke ( comment above) suggests we might want to revert to 2018 version proves there are problems with 2019 version and that many of us have had to revert back to 2018.  I am sorry I paid for 2019, ripoff!!

Sorry you're running into issues with 2019. We have fixed a lot of issues in recent updates, so it should be more stable now. If there are still problems, please let us know what they are.

You mentioned that we need better ways to explain how to do things. Have you looked at our online help? You can access relevant help by clicking the question mark buttons in Snagit's interface to view help content for that feature.

I didn't mean to imply that you should be reverting to 2018. I was explaining the purpose of a folder on disk that's used to revert from one release of 2018 to another, in case a release broke something. This has gotten very little use in recent years, so we've actually removed that feature in 2019 so as not to use up disk space for something most users weren't using. It had the added benefit of making updates to Snagit install much faster.
