are you producing FROM MP4 media?

producing from MP4 media is much more demanding than producing FROM trec clips; I don't know why

I've been recently doing some "way-beyond-the-envelope" project work ; test projects were only 1 minute in duration, but they involved 2 separate video clips, 100 tracks worth each [200 tracks in total]

trec media based productions [to MP4] went OK [although very slow at 54 minutes per 1 minute of project]

but MP4 media based productions were eye opening; maximum duration project that would actually produce was 2 seconds [and at a much slower rate than the trec]; longer duration attempts always resulted in crashes

I discussed with tech support and they confirmed the MP4 burden thing

FROM trec clips.  Updated the machine BIOS and restarted, fingers crossed.  I don't think its a resource issue.

I also have a 5520 that overheats (download core temp and check it) and shuts down.  What i found was that the fans were not spinning up properly and allowing the processor to overheat. Two things worked for me.
1. I switched over to software rendering in the advanced settings, slower but it works.
2. I (yesterday) got a new bios from Dell, the first thing i did after loading it was switch the rendering back to recommended and try to create an MP4. It worked so while i did only one it seems that the bios update helped.

YMMV... Good luck. Bill
