Hey TS,

Can you add more and updated device  frames to the current device frame library?
I upgraded to 2018 and was disappointed to not see am updated library.  - Library even says old ... Add New iPads, new iPhones, Android devices. Seems like  this would be a simple update.

Am I missing something?

Can I add device frames to Library as an enduser?

thx,
Steve

Hi,
You can create your own device frames and add them to the Library. Refer to this article: https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/custom-frame-device
Lon Naylor provides a great video showing how he creates green screen device frames using Dropmock. Demo is using C8 but the process will work for 2018:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpabZtJ9iso

Hi Steve, thanks for the feedback on Device Frames for Camtasia! We're currently investigating other types of Device Frames to add, you mentioned different types of devices (iOS, Android, etc) but are there any other specifics that you're looking for? Different types of backgrounds, etc?

Cheers,

Kelly

I'd like more neutral backgrounds -- black / white  / gray... ore to be able to sub in my own behind the device frame. I use the iPhone frame currently.  Having a larger number or variety to choose from -- and knowing that they'd work seamlessly with CamtasiaStudio -- would be an incentive for me to subscribe to the asset library.

I'd also like the ability to add my own to my local library and have them available, just like the ones that come with the product.

Thanks for listening!

Hi Diane, thanks for the feedback! Talk to me a bit about the black / white / gray backgrounds; what else is happening within your video and the Device Frames, if those types were available?

Also, when you say you'd like the ability to add your own local library, can you give me some additional details there? Where is your library coming from, would you be making them yourself, buying them from somewhere, etc?

Cheers,

Kelly

I would find custom Device Frames really useful.

I want to be able to take a photo of a typical workstation in my organisation, then use imaging editing software to draw a green rectangle where Camtasia should place the screen capture.

It would help me illustrate when different teams are performing different parts of a process. For example, when call centre staff begin the process, then an administrative team process it, then the archive team do their bit, etc.

Thanks for the feedback, Samuel! We're definitely looking at expanding the Device Frame content available to Camtasia, so keep an eye out for that. It sounds like you also want to create your OWN Device Frames for Camtasia, from real-world content that you have access to, is that correct?

Cheers,

Kelly

Samuel, what you want is available now. Here's a video of Fortnite on a photo of a Mac 128.

It's been a while since the last post, but I would also love to see more device frames as this would speed up my workflow. Save me from having to import and keep/update a library of them. Would be a really nice addition.

Thanks Rich! Are there any particular devices/backgrounds/orientations/etc that you're looking for?

Hi Kelly, just the most common iphone &  Samsung devices to start. Browserstack has an amazing selection. It would be awesome if Camtasia had a similar gallery of assets.

Hi Kelly,

The page on your website for downloading Device Frames contains nothing for iPads or any other manufacturer's tablets.

Where can I find these?

Kind regards,

Francis

P.S. This is the page I am referring to: https://library.techsmith.com/camtasia/assets/Videos/DeviceFrame

Hi francisburns,

At the moment, we do not have any iPad Device Frames for Camtasia. I'll put that on our list of devices to consider. Thanks!

Cheers,

Kelly

Hi again francisburns, I was playing around with some content in Camtasia, just trying to get some ideas of what you might be looking for. Would something like this be close to the mark?

Cheers,

Kelly

Hi francisburns,

Ok, thanks for the insight! We'll be looking to add some new content to the Asset Store in the near future, so I'll get at least that one in the hopper, and look into widescreen options for the future as well!

Cheers,

Kelly
