I recorded a long Powerpoint lecture had the image on one of my  two screens. I pressed record and used custom to outline the presentation slides.  The first time The powerpoint came up with no audio. So I did it again. The second time the first half presented well but the second half of the lecture there was no slides showing only audio.  UGH. This is almost a two hour lecture.   What the heck is happening.  Any thoughts.  I don't want this to happen again I was supposed to have this presentation done already and posted for students.

Does it look right on the screen while you are recording it?

Yes, I see the powerpoint.  I have two screens, I do not see it on Camtasia when I customize the sized of the screen only show slides.  It is the powerpoint being recorded with audio.  No way of knowing while working on if audio or video recording is working until finished with slide show,

I'm not sure if Mac has this capability, but on Windows, we can import from PPT. Then you end up with each slide as an image that you can then manually place where you need.

Or, export the images from PPT, then import them into Camtasia?

Or, export a video from PPT, then import the video into Camtasia?

Sorry to hear you are having problems. Rick :)

Rick, I tried importing slides but Camtasia said the format was incompatible. Mac Powerpoint and Mac Camtasia.  I don't understand why Camtasia can't create a better MAC option MAC users.

I am doing something similar. I create a PPT lecture, transform it into pictures, then I use CampusMedicus upload the pictures, start CM and capture the screen including my live picture with Camtasia on a Mac. You can see an example here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBi4aMNOU3w&t=57s

Anna, does CampusMedicus give you the photo image in your video capture?  I like the picture on presentation effect for students. Would like if Camtasia MAC could do that.   I made a powerpoint and opened it on the screen and used camtasia to record screen. It should be able to do that, it has worked before.  For some reason it will not work for this presentation

It's hard for me to tell what's going on here, but you're right that Camtasia should always be able to record the screen. If you pick the screen you are presenting on, everything you see during the presentation should be recorded.
It might be helpful to contact our Support staff, so they can have a look at what's going on with your machine, or maybe peek at one of your projects where this has happened.
