I need to use this software to record training videos of AS400 based software. This software uses function keys to control the program. How do I disable the function keys in Camtasia so I don't disrupt my simulation.

Which version of Camtasia Studio are you using? You can check by clicking the Help menu, and selecting "About Camtasia Studio". If you're using version 7, the following should do the trick:

When you open Recorder, click on the "Tools" menu, then select "Options", and in the dialog that opens up, click the "Hotkeys" tab. On the left there's a list of tasks, and on the right you can select which hotkey will perform the task (for example, by default "Record/Pause" is set to F9). Click on the drop-down menu where all the keys are listed, and the first option should be "None". If you repeat that for all the tasks on the left that use a function key, you should be all set!

If you're not using version 7, just let us know what version it is and we'll get right on it. Hope that helps!
