Disappointed in taking out the hotspot and external URL tag after Snagit 12 and not putting it back in.

I have used snagit from the first release and stopped getting the upgrades after Snagit 13 when I found out the hotspot and URL link had been dropped.  This is a major part of my workflow.  I have put up with processing half using Snagit 13 then having to exit 13,  End the window tasks still left in  memory and call up Snagit 12 to finish add the hotspot and URL.  I would like to know if this is going to be addressed or not.

It's been my experience that when TechSmith takes away. It's gone forever.

The only exceptions I can site is text capture. They returned that after taking it away.

Then their was SnagIt notes. They took them away. People screamed, they gave them back for one version. And then took them back away the next version.Never to give them back again.

So yeah, hang on to your old versions. Not sure why you can't just do it all in Version 12?

SnagIt 5 still functions on Windows 10, but flash video capture has issues. So odds are Version 12 has a long shelf life to go.

Chris and Joe,

The problem I had in Version 12 was the inability to capture links AND scroll long web pages.  I was told by techsupport version 12 (12.4.1 - Build 3036) was the last to be able to do so, and I bought it.  Just did a clean install and it does not work for me . . .

I would do what Joe suggest - just use version 12 - but . . .

dmgatwork - Kuddos to you for stopping at Snag-it release 13. I saw it already degrading at version 12, which is my last one. The best release they ever had was version 11.4, which is what I use all the time. It works flawlessly on Windows 7 (my desktop) and on Windows 10 (my laptop). I also have started using Snag-it since it was first released.

But I do not do any post processing with Snag-it. I use PSP or MS  Powerpoint for that. I capture images AND videos off the internet with the Snag-it product, as well as capturing screens from many Windows based tools I run on my computer. I have made a 400 page Windows tutorial that is about how to use Windows, as well as a few key tools used to maintain and keep your Widows based PC running at optimal performance. It has over 400 'pictures' in it, almost all by using Snag-it. I tutor people and service PC on their computers all remotely from my home.

Snag-it has been a fabulous tool, but not after Version 12, and definitely not the last release. They seem to be going down a 'rabbit hole'!
