(This idea is something we’ve heard from customers over time from several of our sources of feedback. We’re posting it here to gauge how well this fits our users’ needs. So please let us know what you think.)

Not everyone uses the same tools and works the same way. Some users want to be able to move around the Properties and Effects panel to different parts of the Editor UI. Or potentially drag them off the be floating windows to give more space for the canvas.

... and have the effects and properties both docked in the same panel, and available at all times, where space permits

Essentially, the top ribbon needs to contain the basics  File Tab, Edit, View, etc and so forth.

But all the main panels should be Un-dockable, Re-sizable and Closable.

Photoshop is my best Example. It's not very practical from my perspective. You could close every panel tool and properties panel there is if you wanted to.

Going back 27 years they added more features and tools to their UI. It was always fully customizable.

You can customize today's Photoshop to look a lot like Yesteryear's Photoshop.

It would be great to be able to dock the tools I use regularly, and compress or hide those I don't.

This Idea didn’t get enough votes to be under consideration for a future release. So, we are marking this one as Not Planned for the time being. At this point, there are a lot of other things things we’ll be focusing on first. Definitely bring this up again when we do our next round of voting if you still see a need!

Here are the definitions of what the statuses mean for Ideas.
Here is the overall vote count for the rest of the Ideas in this round up.
