Doodles for Camtasia

Currently, I have to use Camtasia and Explaindio to get doodles and pen effects on my videos, which is a painful and cumbersome process. Any chance to see vector and font doodles (with the option of a hand drawing!) in Camtasia? Pretty please?

Agreed! We need a Camtasia Pro version, or a much wider 3rd party/plug-in API ecosystem!

regarding hand drawing, are you aware of Camtasia's ScreenDraw tools; are you aware of 3rd party tools like free Epic Pen?

Hi there

You say it's painful and cumbersome to work with. One of the things I might imagine would be infinitely helpful and that TechSmith would need to know is what exactly are your pain points? Where does the existing process fail you? How do you envision it becoming better if TechSmith were to make changes to Camtasia?

For example, would you be hoping to use your mouse to "draw" something and have the ability for Camtasia to use perhaps a hand as the actual mouse pointer that would follow the mouse path?

The better you are able to articulate what you would hope to see I would imagine the better TechSmith may be able to respond.

Cheers... Rick :)

Explaindio is a "Specialty" Whiteboard explainer/creation program.

And not in Camtasia's wheelhouse by any stretch of the imagination. It's more of a marketing tool from my perspective.
What it does best is emulate drawing images on a white board. Or background of your choosing.

Or erasing if that works for you.

You control the speed of the animation, line width and some other parameters.

The hand can insert images. No big deal. A Png image can accomplish the same thing in Camtasia.

There are a lot of preset animations you can apply to other forms of media. Blah, blah, blah.

What I find painful and cumbersome to work with?
Is Explaindio's workflow. It's convoluted at best. With regards to usability. It rakes at the top of the list of. USER UNFRIENDLY.

I don't envision Camtasia reinventing this wheel. It's not specifically a Whiteboard creation program. Not to say you cannot create them. But I feel comfortable stating, I don't believe they will be dedicating resources to create a tool that makes animations like the ones in the attached gif's above.

Regards,Joe

Well, that'd be too bad because it'll force me to use Explandio + Camtasia to create the videos I need, and the workflow is a pain in the neck :(
