I am using Camtasia 9.1 more and more often. I feel there are some easy things that could greatly increase productivity:
1. Being able to add folders into the media bin section would allow people to organize footage and make every project more modular
2. Assuming there are common components that I include into every project, having the ability to import those components as if they were a library would greatly improve the ability to use the tool. I would imagine this is a common problem for everybody that uses Camtasia to create training materials or posts. Starting from the last project is not very efficient
3. Exporting/Importing a project managing folder structures is important. I am surprised that the reference to files is absolute in the Camtasia project. I think you should really consider making it relative to a root and allow people to organize footage in folders. When the project is exported into the zip file, the folders structure should come along
4. The group feature is ok. I don't like the fact that when the groups are expanded the tracks above the group are being utilized to hold the items in the group. I think the group should include a reference to the track and as it expands, the tracks are expanded too. This allows people to name the tracks and keep the naming consistent
5. I think you should include support for movies that have transparent backgrounds allowing to export also movies with transparent background. Not allowing so, forces people to do a lot of processing outside of Camtasia.
For the rest, I like a lot the tool. I think it is generally easy to use and the functionalities that are in it are what you generally need so great job!
Thanks
Gianluca
