difficulty with grabbing might be a mouse thing?
I use a wireless optical mouse and it is challenging to use it precicely on some parts of the CS UI
The cursor covers a set distance across your monitor when you move the mouse 1 inch across the mouse pad.
When the setting is to high. Precision goes out the window if you need to move the cursor a short distance.
I would try adjusting your cursor speed down a bit. That should allow you to adjust the media one frame at a time with ease.Provided you are zoomed into the timeline all the way.
GO into the windows control panel and type mouse into the search bar. Navigate to the mouse speed settings and turn it down by a click or two. That should resolve it for you.
Bear in mind this slows down the overall DPI speed of the mouse and you will need to move the mouse further across the pad to cover the same distance you are currently accustomed to.

I realise this issue is a bit old, but this has really been getting on my nerves today, finding it really difficult to extend clips, it keeps moving them instead. Only started seeing this week, then I remembered I adjusted the Hardware Acceleration setting in Camtasia last week to resolve some Ripping issues. I changed this back to Software Online mode and I can now click the edge of clips easily again.
Settings is under Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced - Hardware Acceleration.
Zooming all the way in helps a little, but this workaround is possibly more frustrating than the original problem.
I do not experience this problem with any of my other NLEs - Premier and Pinnacle Studio 21. Or even Photoshop.
