Edit not playing correctly in produced video

Hi, I made an edit using the "cut" tool that plays correctly in my camproj file, but when I produce either as MP4, or to share, it is not there. The part I cut out is still in the produced video. Any idea why? I'm using Camtasia Studio 8.3.0.

I've found the cut tool not always the best being a little hit and miss now and then. A better way to get the result you need is to move your slider to the start of your cut, click on the strip to light it up (blue) then click on the slider and use 'split', then move your slider again to end of where you wish to cut, hilight the video strip again, 'split' then delete that section. After doing that, move the two separated strips together. Always works for me.

The last image you can see the section I wish to remove. Simply right click on it, then delete. Finally bring the two strips together to see the end result. Good luck.

I use v8.6 (not 8.3) but the answer would be the same for all v8 (and probably later) versions:
If you play the video using the timeline for playback (before producing the MP4) is the clip still visible?  If so, the scissors did not clip the section out.  I have experienced this when there was a locked track somewhere.
The same is true if you turn off the track (make the eye/slash icon light up) -- the cut won't happen.
Basically, anything visible and unlocked can be cut; anything locked or invisible cannot.
