Editing out a middle section of a webinar recording and replacing it with a rerecorded section?

Does anyone know if it's possible with Camtasia to edit a webinar recording I have, I want to remove a middle section of the recording and replace it something that has been rerecorded (and is better). One of our presenters had a freeze and messed up what she was trying to say, I was wondering if we could record it and edit it in before it goes public?

easy to do, assuming your webinar clip is compatible with Camtasia Studio

with the clip on timeline, select the section to be deleted [using the playhead handle selectors], then use delete key; that will remove the unwanted section

put the new section clip on timeline [higher track], position its start point, preposition original ending section if necessary to line up with end of replacement

move new clip to same track as original so you can be sure that all sections touch [so you don't get any black frames]

Here is a short video showing how I remove a bad section of audio and replace it with new audio.

What kayakman describes works perfectly as well, especially if you are replacing a larger section of the webinar file.

Best of luck in your 'repair'.
