Hi, all. I'd like to embed streaming video html to my Camtasia projects, so that the project calls the video at a certain point in the timeline. Is there a way to do this?

Hi,

You can add a Hotspot to a piece of media to link to a URL - this article gives details: https://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-camtasia-add-interactive-hotspots-to-a-video.html
You'll need to produce with the TechSmith Smart Player for the Hotspot to work.

I hope this helps.

Hello Jayne,

The Hotspot interactive area is a nice feature. Of course to link to a another video on YT, Vimeo or even better on ScreenCast itself.

But I should like to extend this with options that we can show this video within our originating ScreenCast-video. It would be beautiful if we could use a Callout that is showing this referenced video within its body - we could give it also a Device frame from Camtasia (for example a monitor- or TV-frame - nice are the iMac frames you have already).

The originating screencast-video (which we produced in Camtasia) will stop as long as this hosted video is running and goes on (automatically or manual) when the linked video ends (or is stopped bij the user). So the linked video is just a step-out-and-return from our main videostory.

In this way we could make also a tableau of more video-Call-outs in one screen - I think this is also nice for educational projects, as to show up more lessons (as video's) out of one serie where one can choose from, or see them each.

On my WIX-driven site you can see an example of many linked video's in one browser screen. (ok, sorry this site is only in Dutch except from 1 PDF in English on home page).

Just a suggestion...

Kind regards,

Hi Jayne,

I'm wondering how I can embed a video with hotspots on our learning platform, because the hotspots just work when I open the html file of the video. But on our learning platform only mpg, .mpeg, .wmv, .flv, .m4v, and .mp4 are possible.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Lisa,

When you produce your video with the TechSmith Smart Player you can create a SCORM content package for SCORM compliant LMSs. Depending on your LMS you should be able to upload the zipped package.

I'd be interested to know if this works for you.

Best regards,

Jayne
