Enlarge canvas size while editing

I try to drag down the bottom of the video editing canvas but it doesn't stick. I get the double-headed arrow but it springs back. I understand that there's a connection with output size.

BUT . . . I want to be able to make the video part larger, while I edit, so that I can see better detail. This is not the same as publishing it - I simply want to see the video larger while editing.

In Camtasia 8 this worked fine, just drag down (it made the track area smaller but that's fine).

In Camtasia 9, I'd like this same thing (it's standard in other video apps and was that way in 8).

Any insight would be fantastic.

Hmm, I see now, detach the canvas and drag it to another monitor. That works except that it's always half off the screen and you have to move it with arrow keys, at least this lets me make it larger.

Hi David,

I'm not certain why the canvas springs back. When I get the double arrow head I can drag and release the mouse to make the tracks smaller and canvas larger. You may need to raise a support ticket.

When I'm editing, I use tools above the canvas to zoom into the canvas, pan across and edit. The zoom does not effect the editing dimensions, you're just simply zooming in on the canvas so you can see the detail clearer. Select Fit to see the whole video again.

Hope this is useful,
