Enlarging the text box

When I enter text (for a title for instance) that is larger such as 72 points, there is no room to view the text I enter. It is completely frustrating. I would suggest to make the text box larger or, better yet, provide the ability to edit the text in the canvas ... am I missing something? At some point in the distant past we had the ability to see all the text no matter how big it was.

One workaround would be to type the text into something like Windows Notepad, then copy it and paste it into the text box.

But I do agree it should be easier than it is!

Cheers... Rick :)

You aren't missing Anything.

The Camtasia text box is Probably the Most Dysfunctional text box in existence today.

The quickest way to get around it that I am aware of ???

Use the default font " Arial". Set the font size to 14. This will give you up to Four lines of "Small but Visible Text" plus around 40 to 50 characters per line to work with.
After Creating your text or title.  Double click the callout, either on the timeline or the canvas to "Highlight All the Text". Then, change the font size and/or font style . You can temporarily resize the text smaller if you need to edit it at a later time.

I usually create my titles or text in other programs so it doesn't bother me that much.

What bothers me is that TechSmith has yet to fix this, or acknowledge that they will.

Regards, Joe

Thanks guys. I use both Camtasia on both platforms and I can tell you that the Mac version has it right ... you can edit it right no the canvas. Currently I have a customer that needs me to do it on Studio (PC) so that we can collaborate on the project. Otherwise I would be doing it totally on the Mac.

Joe ... I like the work flow you suggested. Here's the funny part to all this. I took a title from the library which starts with 72 point text ... I will erase it, change everything to 14 pt Arial ... and then switch it back to the right size.

On other thing, have many people complained yet?

I would agree with everyone on this issue and would like to see TechSmith make this a little easier to accomplish what we need to do here. Joe's thanks for the information and Rick too. Just feel that we should not have to go through all of this just to accomplish something that could be made easier. I too hope TechSmith looks into this and comes up with a better way to accomplish this.

Hoping maybe one of the employees will possibly give a little feedback on this here. Has anyone contacted TechSmith Support to ask them this question ? If so, what was their response ? Just curious to see if it has been brought to their attention and what they had to say in return. Thanks everyone for posting and have a great day/night.

That was going to be my next question Fred.  Does anyone have a direct connection ... do they read these blogs?
