Hi there

From the main SnagIt capture window, click where it says Presets. There you will see a listing of all presets and it should show the keyboard shortcuts assigned. Also check just below the big red capture button. That could be set as well.

Cheers... Rick :)

If you are using Snagit 2019

Go in to the Snagit Capture Preferences and under the capture tab
un-check "Open screenshots copied from system"

It sounds like that may be the issue.

Upon coming back to this post later I realize that my previous post probably won't help.

I have to agree with Rick and Joe that you might have a shortcut set in Snagit using Ctrl + C.

When I answered my thoughts went right to the feature in Snagit to open screenshots in Snagit when Copied but that's when copied with system tools (the snipping tool). That's different than Ctrl +C.

Ctrl + C doesn't make a screenshot per say so there is nothing to copy.

I do note that SnagIt did not complain when I attempted to assign Ctrl+C to the main copy function of the big red button.

Like Joe, I really can't imagine why someone would want to do that. But it seems that in this case it's something that has happened and isn't really desired.

Of course, we won't know for certain what the issue is or was or if it's been resolved until we hear back from ezadler, but I could easily see where someone may inadvertently get focus placed on that field where it is in listening mode, then execute a copy and things just kind of go downhill from there.

Cheers... Rick :)

I removed my previous post. I thought about it and there is a scenario where Ctrl+C can Launch SnagIt.

If you have a custom profile set to Capture full screen. And you assign the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C.
Have it set to Preview In Editor. Then that will launch the editor.

But that's the only scenario I know of that Windows Ctrl+C will launch SnagIt.

Regards, Joe

Others must be Fixed Region, etc. All tied to Ctrl+C as a Keyboard  Shortcut.

But what an ignorant shortcut would that be????? It should be banned and not even assignable by SnagIt if you ask me.

Who would  actually want Ctrl+C hijacked by SnagIt every time they Hit It?
