Export or share themes in Camtasia?

If this has already been requested or answered, my apologies as I was unable to find an answer via the forum search.

I have created a theme for my camtasia videos and would like to be able to export and or share it with the users of our computer in our learning lab.  Currently,  I have checked into the AppData and ProgramData folders on my windows 10 pc to see if there was a file I could possibly copy out and place into same directory on the learning lab pc, but was not able to locate such a file.

If this is not possible then how can I make it available to all users who log in to the learning lab pc after recreating the theme in camtasia on that pc but under my user account?

Thanks in Advance

Thank you so much for this!  Now I just need to figure out the best way to make this available to every user who logs into that computer and opens Camtasia.

Hi emiller,

At this moment, there's not a way in Camtasia to share your themes. I'm very interested in the workflow you're asking about, sharing the themes in your learning lab; would you care to elaborate on that? We're always looking for ways to improve theming, and Camtasia in general, and hearing how you are hoping to use it helps guide us on that mission.

Thanks for the feedback!

Kelly, Not sure if you ever had an answer to your question. We are also looking to share themes across multiple computers for branding purposes. We have multiple people making videos so having common color / font themes distributed efficiently is important to us. Perhaps I'm missing something, but is there some other way to apply a "theme" to multiple computers in an organization?

Hi rchawla,

Thanks so much for sharing your insights! At the moment, there is not currently a way to apply a theme to multiple computers. If you can tell me a bit more about what exactly you're trying to do, I'd love to share some of those insights with the team! What do your productions look like on the timeline (i.e. do you have intros, titles, etc)? What are the most important parts of your videos that could take advantage of shared themes?

Cheers!

Kelly

Hi Kelly. I'd like to be able to create a color scheme (brand colors for instance) and make that exportable / importable to other machines in our organization. We can do this with Intros and Outros we develop in Libraries, but want the same efficiency for color / font themes, and even images such as logos. Am I missing something?

Hi rchawla, that is great information, thank you! We're actually interested in hearing more about your specific example, so keep your eye open for an email asking to see if you'd be willing to talk to us a bit more!

Cheers,

Hi rsb,

Still something we're investigating, and trying to understand how people would like to use this. Do you have a use-case or scenario where you'd like to use importing and exporting themes that you'd be willing to share?

Cheers,

Kelly

I have a similar case in my organization - we are a team of a few people who create videos using Camtasia. I have created a colour theme with the company colours and I want to share those with the other team members - of course they can just create the same colour theme on their own but it's not that efficient to do this.

We also need to share some common elements like intros and outros, but I managed to find a way to add those in a custom Library, which everyone can access.

Hope this helps!

Dimitar

I don't understand why you're making such a simple request.Appear to be such a long and draw out development process?

People are interested in sharing themes. To me, this insures parody between users, with little to no effort in the sharing process.

If processed/shared in the same or in simular fashion.
As the way you can share a users capture presets with SnagIt. Isn't that enough?

I don't see how deep dives into understanding others workflows. Makes for a better sharing experience? You can either export and import saves themes.Or you can't. Currently you cannot.
You'll have to excuse me if I envision a very basic feature. Being nothing more than that. If you overthink it indefinitely, can you devise some super slick technique. Or some over developed and prone to errors technique, like a cloud service. That users wait forever to see implemented.

Keep it simple and be done with it. I would think you could have something ready for a upcoming maintenance release. Then start working on something else. {:>)

I would also like to share themes I create with my coworkers. It's unfortunate the 3 of us use the same branding guide (e.g., fonts, colors) and each have to create a theme separately.

I am also trying to do this. Where do I find the file to send to coworkers using a Mac?

I agree with other posters that this is a fairly simple request. All we want to do is create a theme then share it with coworkers who will be posting videos to the same training platform and for them to have a consistent look and feel, without having to write a drawn out list of instructions.

I also want to create my own annotation styles and share them with my team. I can see how to save them for myself, but I would like to share these.

I work at a university. It would be nice to allow all content creators to use the same theme / style annotating their videos. Finally this could fit to the corporate design.

Hey Jörg, thanks for the feedback! I'd love to hear more about your workflow. How many folks do you have on your team that could take advantage of this? Do you have someone that is in charge of branding that would make/help design these themes, or would you just share them around as a group?

Thanks!

Hi Kelly,

there is no existing workflow yet. At the moment we create our strategy for the digital transformation of (parts of) our education. This will include, for sure, content creation. And this is the moment where a corporate style would make sense. We would start with a first "best practice" style and then improve this until we have something useful for all content creators (mostly professors themselves with support of some staff).

So exporting and importing themes / styles should be made quite easy.
