exporting markers in camtasia

Is there a way to export all my markers to be edited? I don't want to have to edit the config.xml file. Is there a simpler way of exporting all of my markers into a simple text file for reuse, such as on a website that would list the topics (markers) in a given camtasia project?

Hi there!

I'm afraid the functionality you request is not built-in to CS.

I'm curious though, why would this be useful to you?

If you're using media markers, you could, add them all to, say, an image or callout that lasts the entire duration of your timeline - then add that clip to your Library to reuse in other projects.

Let me know if you have questions.

My reason (which may not the same as the OP) is that the Camtasia player which is supplied is not accessible. As such I have to use my own player.
I want to provide my users the ability to skip to different topics in the video so would like to use simple JS to move the video to a point in a timeline from a list of links. If I could export the marker name and the timestamp into an easy to parse format I could easily do this.

have you tried using Microsoft's free XMLNotepad?

it makes editing markers in the XML very easy

The reason to get markers via csv/xml or something like that is pretty simple.

You want to get a simple file for making your own player or maybe you use a different well integrated system in you $blog/$distribution network or whatever.

For example:

Within germany there's a popular system called podlove player within the podlove wordpress environment. It would be useful to get simple mp4 files for video and a marker file for the chapters.

I have another internal web/CMS system within the university which is pretty much the same idea.
At the moment I can't use chapters because of the missing export which makes it painful to workaround.

At the end... seriously... As I used the software first time within university I couldn't believe there is no option to get markers. It should be a matter of course. It's a consideration about a better workflow design (for several reasons) and should be built into...

Is there a possible workround?
Are the markers somewhere hidden?
Can I get them out via editing/take a look into something?
