Extend Frame not available ?!

Hi !

I'm using Camtasia 2020 (Windows) and the Extend Frame option is not available for me ...

I tried all possible ways I know of:

- use the Modify menu
- use Right click/Shift+E
- use the ALT key and drag the media

nothing works ...

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

I'll appreciate any help asap since I have a deadline I need to meet.

A little more information, please...
Is your object a video, trec recording, jpg or other image, etc.?
On a Camtasia intro I experimented with, some objects can be extended like this (mp4, trec) while others can't.
I'm sure you're already placing the vertical bar precisely at the end of the clip, then doing your [CTL]-[E] or right-click.
Perhaps this thread will help, from people more knowledgeable than me:

I'm editing a screen recording video done in Camtasia 2020 (so the file format is .tscproj).

Yes, I'm placing the vertical bar precisely at the end of the clip, then doing the [CTL]-[E] or right-click.

normally, the clip being extended has to be selected on timeline

but try this ...

while holding down alt key, position cursor over end of clip, a square will appear, grab end of clip with left mouse down, and pull clip end to extend

Thanks for your reply, but none of the options works for me ... The Extend Frame option is completely grayed out in the Modify menu and when I try the ALT key, the square doesn't appear ... What's even more messed up is that my colleague tried the same file I have and it works for him without a problem. So I can't figure out why it's completely the oposite for me ...

.tscproj is the Camtasia working file (the container for your project).
So I assume you did a screen recording, and now you're editing the .trec of the recording?
If it's a video clip, you may have to make a jpg image of your last frame, and insert that, then drag it for as long as you need to.

I did a screen recording with Camtasia 2020 (without an audio), and I added the audio file separately (because it was recorded by professional narrator) and now I try to synchronize them. But, the Extend Frame option is grayed out for me ...
I'll have to try the option you suggested (make a jpg image of the last frame).

just to double check ...

you're trying to extend on the video clip?

I don't believe you can extend frames on audio clips

thanks

could you do a short screencast demonstrating the issue, hosted on screencast.com?  I ask because sometimes those allow us to see stuff that might be blocking the extend effort; a view if entire project at ctrl-shift-7 zoom would help too

also, have you contacted tech support?

I can't reproduce any issues with extend frame myself, so running out of ideas
