In Camtasia Studio 7.1.1 you can extend a video at a specific point within the track. Everything moves to the right and the specified time is inserted.

However, a split is also introduced. And it is obviously not possible to have callout across a split.

It would be great if I could insert a few extra seconds here and there for timing in an instructon video, without having to manually correct the callouts across the new split.

Hello Guido,

We just released Camtasia Studio 8. Callouts are no longer restricted by the Video 1 track. Callouts and video are treated the same. You can place callouts and video however you like on an unlimited number of tracks.

Here, for example, a video with cuts and splits is on Track 1. A callout is on Track 2:

However, you may still need to manually adjust the duration of your callout after performing an Extend Frame on Track 1. I hope you will find the overall workflow much easier. If not, let us know!

You can learn more about what's new in Camtasia Studio 8 here: [ http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia-wha... ]

(You can try the fully functional trial for 30 days without having to uninstall your previous version of Camtasia Studio.)
