Do you have the admin right to your PC? It seems that it always look for the directory where it was installed from. Without admin access, you won't be able to go to the directory where it was originally installed to finish the setup.

I have the same problem and wonder how to make it work if you don't have admin right to your PC.

Hi there!

This particular issue can happen when attempting to install from the Temp directory (generally happens if you simply clicked "Run" after clicking on the Download link) or if you are trying to install an application from a network location. Try downloading the application once more, but this time click the "Save" button and wait for the file to be downloaded. Once downloaded you will want to go to your Downloads folder and then double-click on Camtasia.exe.

Do you still have the issue after following those install steps?

I installed it from a downloaded exe file. Installed locally, it still copied all the files to a temp folder of the account installing it. When running it the first time from my account (not admin), it looked for the files in the temp folder where it installed from. Since I don't have admin account, I can't access the folder it was installed from. See screen shot below:

The problem is that I miss the .msi file, the package installation and not having the files I can not complete the installation.
Where can I download the file?
The .msi files, not .exe
I do not find it anywhere

Hello,
Where are you downloading/getting the software from?

The TechSmith website or somewhere else?

Please download from here: https://www.techsmith.com/download/camtasia/

I downloaded the setup from TechSmith, the problem is missing the installation package (Setup_CamtasiaStudio8_x86_ENU).
Where can I download the file Setup_CamtasiaStudio8_x86_ENU.msi?
Without it I can not complete the installation.
And I repeat that I need to download the .msi files, not .exe

Open the setup and comes out the message as last time.

I select the camtasia.msi files, and when I click ok, check another message. He says the camtasia.msi file is not valid for the product Camtasia Studio 8, and to complete the installation, serves Setup_CamtasiaStudio8_x86_ENU.msi file.

Going to look in the folders I found this.

Are you attempting to install Camtasia using one of the links Kelly has provided above?

The Document File shown in your screen shot with "Today's Date" should not be in the Temp folder.

A document file marked "INSTALL"  is not typically provided by a software manufacturer.

Third party software venders provide them sometimes.

In some cases they are even provided by Software Pirates.

If you download Camtasia directly from TechSmith the Temp files should actually look like this.

You should contact Tech support directly for further assistance. They will have no problem helping you sort this all out.

I said that I downloaded from the official website camtasia.Whenever those files gate in the folder, and try again the setup, grow back those files, and I said that you have downloaded everything from the official website.

I discovered that the problem is not Camtasia, but windows installer, lately I do not install anything, I just tried to install League of Legends, and the same mistake, always in temp folders.
So it's windows installer that does not work, what can I do? help me, the PC is not my.

thanks to all of your time, but I've already solved the problem alone.it was enough that I went regedit, and tried camtasia, and then would delete.
however I solved.
