Feature request: Project files created in newer CS9 versions are backward with older CS9 versions

Whenever a new version of CS is released like everyone else I will try it but if there are issues I would like a way to fallback to an older version. The problem then becomes the projects and screen captures I created in the newer version of CS won't open in the older version of CS. I would like project files created with newer versions of CS9 to be backward compatible with the current versions of CS9. That way when I do 8hrs of work in a newer version of CS and encounter problems I don't have to redo that work when I revert back to the older version of CS9.

I'd think this would mean much extra work in R&D, and also might limit the possibilities for creating better new versions. Updates to a major version (7 or 8 or 9) should always be compatible, but going from one major to a new major (from 7 to 8 or 8 to 9) needs to break backwards compatibility

Hi and thanks for submitting your idea/feature request!

As outlined in our New Community Processes post, feature requests are open to voting up through the 1st of the month, where we will then tally the votes and present the findings to our product teams. To ensure we have the most accurate data, on the 1st of the month we will be locking the threads that were listed in the Feature Request Round-up that was posted on the 15th. Once we have reviewed the submitted feature requests, our product team(s) may respond to the request, and if that is the case then that thread will then be unlocked for further discussion.

In the event that your idea is not selected for a response feel free to resubmit the idea and share it with your colleagues to garner as much exposure as possible!

Thank you again for your idea and we look forward to hearing more from you!
