Feature Request: Transparent Backgrounds & GIF Export

We use Camtasia to create animated GIFs for our web and mobile applications. Generally looping loaders and the like. Currently, there is no way to set the project background to transparent so as to export a looping animated GIF with a transparent background.

As a result we end up having to create multiple versions, one for each background color over which we want to use the animated asset. It's a hassle, and it means we end up having to manage quite a few iterations of the same asset.

Please add support for transparent backgrounds!

  • bummed that this hasn't been added despite what seems like a lot of interest and potential utility

Yeah, we're dropping our maintenance agreement for Camtasia as a result. I generally love the program, but the absence of this feature, and perhaps more importantly, the lack of response to this shows us that we don't have the right fit here.

Agreed. What I seek in Camtasia is efficiency and simplicity. But for the price, best go with Dav*nc* like tools if the next Camtasia upgrade is not made of real deals.
Cute is nice, efficient is better.
