Feature suggestion: Add "Capture Info" status bar toggle to Snagit editor. Would be great to see info without opening details or library.

I would like to suggest the ability to add a "Capture Info" status bar toggle to the Snagit editor. It would be helpful to see the information without pulling up a details window or going to the library. Thank you.

Unfortunately I don't quite understand what you mean.  Please could you provide a little more detail and perhaps a screenshot?

"Capture Info" has a very specific meaning in SnagIt because there's a tool for that...

... but it doesn't sound like that's what you mean.....?  Or is it?

Hi Paul.  When I capture something, or pull up a previous capture, it would be very helpful to be able to see the capture information on the screen somewhere.  Currently, it just displays the magnification % and size under the capture in a toolbar.  It would be nice to see the size and capture/modified date and other capture information without going to the details section or the library.  It is currently inconvenient to try to compare a couple different versions of a similar capture because the details of the capture need to be pulled up without having the capture being displayed in the editor.  Does this help explain?  Thank you for your attention to this.

Perhaps "dock" the Details window to the left or below the capture in the editor.

Sooo, mtapp isn't really seeking to add visible text to the capture, but wants more "metadata" stored with the capture that can be presented?

Ah, got it!

It's rather strange that:

a) Some of this information, but not all, is available on mouseover of the Recent Tray thumbnail
b) That when you bring up View > Details the information is presented in a modal box with a huge font and, as a consequence, a scroll bar.

The right hand panel already has a Properties option, which currently show the Tool properties. And on my screen there's acres of free space in that column.  So something like this maybe?

Given that this is more about revealing an existing but inconveniently placed feature, rather than developing something new, it ought to be low hanging fruit. but that's no guarantee..........

Yes, I commented to chat that the "Properties" are confusing because, as you stated, they have nothing to do with the capture properties, but rather the tools.  I think a "dock" of the details on the left (rather than right) would be helpful. (without the scroll).  Thanks again for your attention to this.
