Features to assist recording reproduction of error; Track clicks and keystrokes + FF-to-next-input

I am a software developer and I often need to to report bugs in my tool chain to other teams. When the tool is visual then a Camtasia recording is a great way to communicate what I did to generate the error. Some reproductions are quite involved. For example, to be utterly convincing that the bug is real (and not just because of some screwy config setting on my computer) I sometimes create a clean VM with just Wnidows 10 install and then install all the dependencies, then reproduce the issue. So the recording could be quite long. So to make them useful I need to edit them (or make then more navigable). To that end, I'd like an "auto-edit" feature whereby Camtasia cut out times when I am not actively typing or clicking as those correspond to "waiting for X to install" or some such other un-interesting activity. Or provide another timeline along with video and audio which is input so that I can easily see what sections I want to cut out.

Another option would be to be able to stick in markers watchers could jump to. I'd like the markers to span times when there is minimal input activity. This is more convincing than editing because users can tell you're not doing something behind their back; If they want they could watch the whole thing.
