File corrupted and Camtasia crashed

I did entire video of 20 minutes. Everything was fine then camtasia hanged and refused to be normal. When I restarted the system and trying to open project, it says ".tcsproj file not found". What happened there? Does Camtasia crash so easily?

Hi SB,

Yes unfortunately the beta version of Camtasia 2018 does crash frequently. Many here have expressed frustration over it. We all hope the issues are resolved soon.

using Camtasia2018.0.3.?  If so, that version is not a beta version, it is the latest update of the publicly released, full version

I use Camtasia 2018 every day, and work on many extreme projects; it never crashes, and I've never experienced the issue you describe

could you provide detailed specifics about the project that crashed, media specs, what edits did you do, etc?  also, info about your system?

also, suggest you contact free tech support; perhaps they can assist

It could be related to your hardware. I was having stability problems when using an older Windows 7 machine with integrated graphics (the newest available drivers were 3-4 years old). It would not work reliably with hardware acceleration enabled, but it was much better in software only mode.

I experienced a similar issue a couple months ago after first upgrading to 2018. I contacted customer support and they were able to resolve it within a couple days... I can't remember the exact issue (I could find the correspondence if needed), but had something to do with how the .tscproj file was being handled? Either way TechSmith support jumped right on it and I was able to recover the work.
