I don't find any way to close a project without exiting Camtasia Studio...

The issue is: Why you want to close a project?

If you want open another project, simply open it, that the previous project will be closed...

If you not want open another project, simply close Camtasia windows, that the project will be closed too.

Your request would make sense if Camtasia be able to open the projects in multiple instances. But as only one instance is opened, don't exists the need to close a project.

Or the other reason you'd want to close a project is if you're all done with it after you've completed your render, but would like to keep your project for possible later use. Then the save project to zip is a really nice feature as it stores all your sources and elements needed in a way that you can open it anywhere later on. And so far for me, they've been smaller than the sum of my sources anyways, which saves me some space.

After I finish editing a camproj file, but I want to record a new trec file. So I want to close the project file but keep Camtasia open so I can record a new .trec file. Right now I have to exit out of Camtasia or the new .trec file automatically goes into the currently open camproj file.

Rather than exiting Camtasia completely you could go to File - New Project and then begin recording. This way your new recording goes into its own dedicated project. Does that help?
