Fill using snagit 13

Prior to V13, I could mark an area on my capture and colour it with any colour such that whatever was "underneath" was still visible; the colour simply highlighted the area.
How on earth do I do that with V13? In the attached capture, I only want to highlight the Snagit 13 program, but instead, as you can see, the WHOLE area gets filled.

I haven't found a way to do it either. I poured color into a text box and the entire sheet turned yellow.
Either we haven't discovered the secret or this is a BUG
If a bug ... CONFIRMED

I'm not sure I totally understand what you are asking here. Do you by chance still have version 12 installed so you could actually do it in 12 and maybe either record the process or at least walk us through the basic steps you did in 12?

Cheers... Rick :)

It sounds like you must be having problems with the "Highlighter Pen" Rick reported this solution in another thread.

So there is a bug with it that can be corrected fairly easily.

Can you give this a try and see if it helps?

1) Close out of Snagit so that it is not running at all
2) Hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and hit the R key to open the Run window.
3) In the Run Window, type the following and then hit Enter: %appdata%\techsmith\
4) Right click on the features.json file and open it in Notepad
5) Change the "Direct2D11" line to false
6) Save your changes.

This fixed the highlighter pen for me

Regards,Joe
