The first frame ([filename]_First_Frame.png) is being created ONLY for the first file of a batch. It is missing for all files after the first one. Have tested a batch of 3 files, tried both AVI and CamProj files ... it only produces for the first file in a the batch.

Version: Camtasia 8.01
Publish format: MP4 Flash HTML 5 Player
Start Thumbnail setting: Automatic

This problem also was seen (and reported by me) in I believe in version 7.0 or .1. Help! We have over 2000 clips to convert to the new format and really need that first frame.

I can't believe I'm the only one experiencing this problem. Would appreciate if others would try the same to see if they get the same result. If you don't know how to do batch rendering (like automatically producing several projects without intervention), here are the steps:

1. Camtasia 8 > Sharing > Batch Production
2. Add a few files or projects to batch (choosing from AVI, Camrec, CamProg, etc.)
3. Choose MP4 with Video Player for Produciton Preset as the output
4. Make sure Pause at Start is checked, and Start Thumbnail is set to Automatic

In theory, each file in the batch should be created so it is paused on the "first frame" at the start of the video. In my case, this only occurs on the first file in the batch. All other files in the batch are missing the [filename]_First_Frame.png. And there is no reference to the missing file in the .respective .xml file.

The new MP4/HTML 5 player option is the BEST new feature in Camtasia 8. But if it doesn't work correctly in a Batch render, it is essentially useless. In my opinion, this is not a "feature" issue, but a bug. Anyone else?

I'm told the Techsmith developers read this directly, so to you, here is my plea for help on this issue.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for posting. I opened a bug on this for an upcoming maintenance release. We'll have one coming out shortly, but the development on that one has already wrapped up.

Thanks for the reply and for adding to the bug list. Have no doubt it will be addressed. We're loving the new player, definitely has addressed some of our biggest needs: HTML5, closed captions, and very high quality MP4.

Wanted to push this topic back to the top of the list as it's still not working in the 8.03 maintance release.

VERY important for those of us who make LOTS of clips. In a nutshell, the Batch Prodcution feature is useless for batching HTML5/MP4 projects. It will not create the "first_frame.png" file for all projects following the first one (where it does work).

Please, please try and address in the next maintenance release.

Hello again; sorry this one didn't make it in for 803. I checked in a fix for it this morning. You'll be seeing another maintenance release before too long.
