Snagit 11

I have just upgraded to version 11 and I'm most impressed with the upgrade. I especially love the improvements in the video screen capture and the ability to upload to Youtube from within Snagit.

I've been using Snagit since version 9 when I was put onto it via the forum at Serif.com. I help out mainly on the WebPlus forum where I needed to attach a screen shot or two and this to be done with ease. Using Snagit is just so easy and with a couple of clicks the screen shot you want is taken/processed and uploaded.

I also use Snagit screen shots in my help site, http://www.dond-wp.com and I'm just doing some video tests with 11 to see what the quality is like just uploading from Snagit. My first impressions is "It's just fantastic". See testing here https://www.youtube.com/user/Dondwp?fe...

Keep up the good work Techsmith :)

Did you figure out how to change the default file format PNG to JPG for email attached captures?

Have made the change in Profile Settings, Share, Always use JPG but Editor emailed images are always PNG

Hi

When the captured image goes into the editor you will see the email link in the top left toolbar. If you click the small arrow to the right edge of the "options" title you can change the output format

I have used Snagit as a screen capture utility for years. My first version had no number. What I have learned through the years is that each new release of Snagit renders its primary purpose -- screen, window and region capture -- increasingly difficult and cumbersome. Version 11 is no exception. It sacrifices multiple features present in Snagit 9 and Snagit 10 in favor of offering a more sophisticated image editor that does nothing that multiple like programs on the market can accomplish as well or better. Snagit seems to have lost its direction and focus. It is first and foremost a CAPTURE application.

If Techsmith is hot to market an image editing package, it should be sold as a separate, stand-alone product.

Snagit 11 hides your mouse cursor when recording videos. Jing Pro is way faster to record than Snagit to get the job done.

Hi

If you click the option to keep your cursor in view when recording you should have no problem.

Please read about Jing Pro

How do I tell Snagit 11 to keep the cursor in view when recording video (i.e. please note the exact steps to do so; the description just above this from Dond ddid not note how to and after quite a while I was unable to find it in any of the Snagit 11 settings).
TIA,
Marty

Please, please Techsmith! Allow me to change the video codec properties. The quality off the "on the fly" compression is below average and not professional as you promote it. I still have to use Fraps&VirtualDub to produce videos in an acceptable quality.

The image and text capture work well, but for 45€ too expensive.
