Hi, I used to have Camtasia 7 - the first frame was with a reflection of the picture at the bottom. I have now updated to Camtasia 8 and the first frame is just a picture ...

Camtasia 7:

Camtasia 8:

How can I get camtasia 8 to look like camtasia 7?

Unfortunately, you cannot, I'm sorry!

In V7 we had several Flash Templates that were available for you to help customize the play bar, beginning and end slide, etc. Those Flash templates were removed in version 8.

I think you could replicate this kind of look by taking the first frame of your video and making the reflection on it. We have an older Snagit tutorial that shows how to do this:

Then you would add that image as your first frame in your video.

However, this could be a lot of work and you might not achieve the same exact look.
Others might have some tips to share on how to get this look.

I am wondering... is this just a preference for you? Or are you wanting all your videos to match in look and styling?

I'm sorry I could not be of more help in this regard.

Ah, what a pity! Thanks, Kelly, for your answer - I'll just make the first frame picture look like it does in Camtasia 7. I just think it looks more "professional".
Regards from Hamburg :-)
