Floating Text Formatting Bar

Since I don't know how to take a capture of the Editor interface while in edit mode, I will do my best to describe this.
How can a user dismiss or move the text format bar(?) out of the way when typing text inside of a callout?

In Snagit 11, if the user wanted to access format features, while in text edit mode inside a textbox, they would simply right-click inside the textbox and it would open the context-menu and the floating format options bar. Now in 2018, the formatting bar is always hovering and most of the time it covers up too much of the image being worked on or part of the Properties pane.
Is there a way to grab 'n drag the bar to another location or a setting to have the bar only visible on a right-click perhaps?
This is very annoying.

Thanks in advance,

To be able to capture the editor go to Capture Preferences > Capture and uncheck "Hide SnagIt when capturing"

+1 on the toolbar

Thanks Paul. I will try that if needed for resolution of this issue.
Hopefully, someone will also weigh in with a solution to our primary problem.

Thanks in advance,

Hi there

To my own knowledge there is no way to influence this behavior.

As a workaround, you might want to consider perhaps using something such as Windows Notepad to compose the text you want, then you could copy from Notepad and paste inside the text field.

You may also want to consider reporting this issue to TechSmith as a perceived bug by following the link below:

What types of callout are effected? I'm asking this because it doesn't seem to happen to me.

I must confess, I don't use the text callouts all that much.  But when I do the floating window is either away from the callout in the image or floating outside of the canvas area all together.
As shown here.

So you have behavior that's outside of the norm.

Rick, thanks for the input; likely will post to Support.
Such a shame when prior functionality is either eliminated or degraded with program redesigns.

Joe, thanks for weighing in.
To come up with a quick example, here is a contrived scenario showing how the bar covers up info that could be useful for putting together a callout note related to the object or text on the capture.

First time working with inline images in this forum; not much control allowed, so hopefully you can get the gist of this.

Again, in version 11, the formatting bar was not persistent and could be called up with right-click and sorta dismissed when needed. A grab bar on this would be great for moving it out of the way.

Thank you,

Has this issue been resolved yet? I find the floating bar highly annoying, and wish there was an option to hide it or move it.
