Snagit, like many other image editing applications, allows you to edit your images pixel for pixel. This means that a font size of 12 is actually 12 pixels and not 12 points. Applications like text editors don't care about pixel editing, so they will display their fonts in points instead of pixels.

These differences in how text is displayed can even be found in Apple's own products. To help visualize this concept, I have include an image to show the difference between text in Preview and TextEdit on a retina and non-retina screen.

Let's get to the practical. Because all this is an excuse in my view

1. I don't have the same TINY view of fonts on my MBP Lion. Or on my MBP Leopard.

2. I think for you tell me this is NORMAL on the Retina is ridiculous.

You can give me all the tech talk you want, but for you tell me this view of the font is normal and now ( I need a magnify glass to read it), is an insult to a customer.

Let me tell you something else. On the work around on version 2.1.1 where I resized image > reset> and decrease the size by 50% as I posted on other thread- the text worked fine.

The image was the proper size, and the 12 font was legible -- not tiny.

So again this answer is not an answer at all.

I am also having this issue. I have 2.1.5 installed.
I'm using a MBP with Retina Display (just bought it so March 2013 edition)...

Is there a fix in the works?
