Hi
in camtasia 9.1 for windows, i have 2 tracks in the timeline.
although track 2 has empty space but when i record a voice via voice narration, it is placed on the track 3 ( if doesn't exist, system automatically creates this new additional track on the timeline. so i have to that recorded voice section on track 2 & delete extra track3.
how to force new voice narration records be placed on the current track on the timeline ?
thanks

I don't believe you can

it seems that new voice narrations will always go on a new, top track; my suggestion, assuming that there is room on lower track, is to do all the voice narrations, then select them all, and then pull them down to the desired lower track

Can't be done.  This is a feature, not a bug -- designed to prevent you from somehow either overwriting existing audio (or video) on a track, or stopping recording because you hit a brick wall of an existing audio (or video) clip.
