How can I free draw on an image ?

My video is a succession of music score pages (images).
I want to add free draw on the score pages, not using predefined shapes like "circles".

How can I do that ?   There's no "free drawing" option in "Sketch motion".

Thanks !

Hi there

Just a clarifying question here. From what I've seen, you seem to want some ability to draw on an image in Camtasia. That part is obvious. But are you wanting to make the final result appear as if you are drawing on the image in real time? For example, you want to slowly circle an area of interest as you are explaining things and the base image shows the slow circular motion along with the narration?

If so, the only way I'm aware of is to use Kayakman's methods. It has to be done at time time you record. There simply isn't anything in Camtasia (or SnagIt for that matter) that will allow you to achieve this.

In SnagIt, you could freehand draw on an image, but the end result would be to have that image with the freehand area already in place.

Although, it does offer a way to create a video and annotate and draw on the image at the time you are recording. And from that aspect, it's really no different than what Kayakman offered up with the links he did.

Cheers... Rick :)

I just want to draw on the image, and use the drawed image as is.
I could use snagit.   But can also just use microsoft paint and re-import the image in camtasia.

If you have SnagIt 2020 it has a feature called create video from images.
You can draw on an image and the live drawing will be captured.
Along with narration if so desired.
The GIF below is just an example

You could produce that video an mp4.
I can't speak as to the quality when re-rendered as I've never tried it.

Oddly enough, the only drawing tools available have to be stored in your favorites menu.

Thank you for helping. I understand it's not possible with Camtasia.   So, I'll edit my image with microsoft paint. Then re-import it in Camtasia.   In the future, I'll edit the image using with Snagit.
