Hello. I just downloaded the free trial and I'm not able to edit my video.  Is this feature unavailable in the trial version?

In SnagIt, editing is pretty limited. All you can do is cut sections off the beginning, the end, or out of the middle. There is no ability to overlay other things or to splice another recording. Those features are handled by SnagIt's beautiful daughter, Camtasia!

Cheers... Rick :)

Oh, also forgot to advise that to my knowledge, the only "crippling factor" involved here is the time you have to try it. No functions are disabled. I know Camtasia inserts a watermark on any videos it creates until you purchase a license. I'm unsure if SnagIt does the same. Perhaps you can tell us?

LOL, yeah, one would think. But SnagIt was the first born! Then Camtasia came along.

From the SnagIt version history:

17 June, 1997: SnagIt v4.0 Released at PC Expo
==============================================
Windows desktop video capture. Saves animations and video as AVI files.

5 November 1999: Camtasia v1.0
This initial release was distributed on the evaluation CD-ROMs at Fall Comdex.

Thank you.  That's really too bad.  The tutorials I watched showed that you can edit and add arrows and callouts and highlight the cursor.  I can't even clip the video.  It's not giving me access to the tool to do so.  Hmm.  Thanks for your comments.
