From a Camtasia video, I am trying to remove high level of hum/hiss background noise.
I split the audio file from .camrec and use the option "Enable noise removal" as shown here.

Also experimented with the sensitivity level but no luck.
Especially when the video starts, it sounds like a you are revving up
a car.

Do you know any other tricks I can try?

I'm no expert but deal with this every week.  What I do is to find as long of a "silent" spot in the audio as possible.  One second is bare minimum but I try for 2 to 2.25 seconds.  This segment is selected and listened to very carefully for any ambient sound.

Once it has been approved, or is the best available, I click "Enable Noise Removal" in the Audio tab.  Open the "Advanced" section.  I use 60% on our church recordings.  65% seems to begin distorting the sound.  Click "Manual noise training on selection."

Auto noise training has never worked for the audio I deal with.

While editing I can still hear some low level noise.  Once the video is produced the background noise is almost imperceptible.  Our recordings are voice only so we use a 96 kbps bit rate in MP4 format.
