Point me to a tutorial for the changes that you made with Coll Outs in Version 8 - I have been using Camtasia for several years - and NOW - with version 8, I find it IMPOSSIBLE to use Callouts - they are inserted at the wrong location, they overwrite the previous callout - I am ready to uninstall version 8 and go back to an earlier version!!! I cannot get any work completed with this new and "improved" version 8 - This stinks!

Danny - it's a bit different, but flexible, and do-able (and actually pretty cool). Do make sure you're on the laterst verison, 8.02, as they're already addressed several issues in the original "8". Happy to show you what I've learned. btw, I always leave the previous version installed, you can run multiple versions on the same computer. I personally still do the critical recording and editing in 7, then produce in 8 (for the Smart Player).

and, none of the conversion issues others, me included, have complained about when you go to convert and produce in CS 8???
You are definitely a lucky fellow.

Mike -
Thanks for your quick response!

I just cannot understand why (in version 8)
1) I position the Time Line to add an additional Callout and Camtasia, replaces OR replicates my previous Callout - REALLY FRUSTRATING!
2) Keyboard Shortcut Callouts that worked in previous versions no longer work in version 8 - again very frustrating!
3) I cannot find a proper Tutorial or resource that FULLY explains these so-called improvements to Callouts.

At this point, Version 8 is detrimental to my actual work - I am going to revert to an earlier version so that I can get some real work accomplished!

Mike - I had a good session with Jim from tech Support today. I have a better understanding of how Call outs are added to the timeline - especially the importance of the Add Call Out Button.

However - and this is a BIG HOWEVER... For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to adjust the height of the multiple tracks on the timeline!

1) I cannot understand the "seemingly" arbitrary assignment of tracks when I select a Call Out!!!
2) For the life of me, I just cannot find a way to adjust the height of these added tracks on the time line!!!

At this point, I have no other choice - I have to go back to an earlier version of Camtasia Studio until you get all of your "bugs" worked out!

For what my two-cents are worth - having experienced many hours of frustration adjusting to Version 8 - Why, oh why - did you "Trash" version 7.0 in you introductory advertising - basically saying - to me - that Version 7 was GARBAGE and that now, the savior has arrived in version 8. NOT!!!
