So I'm starting up a youtube channel and I go to play my first game (A fullscreen steam game) and the whole video it's me just clicking around on my desktop. I have Windows 8 and there is no theme named aero to delete or change. I heard you have to change it to windows 7 basic (windows 8 basic in my case) but there is no theme called that. If you could help on this that would be amazing.

Camtasia Studio has never been designed to record games or any kind of high motion content. Camtasia Studio is designed to record desktop software using the highest image quality.
Camtasia Studio is also unable to record full screen programs so I recommend you to use something else to do the job like the best I have ever used, Mirillis Action! (~30$ for home use and 50$ for commercial use)

Seriously, TechSmith is in my opinion one of the best software developer when we are talking about customer support (from my experience), but as I think the two programs are complementary, I don't think there is a problem recommending a "competitor product". You know, to each job its tools and the Camtasia Recorder is not the tool you need for this job.
You can check my quick comparison about the Camtasia Recorder and Mirillis Action! here under Windows 8 on old hardware (I recommend to download the two following videos which have been produced by Camtasia Studio):

-The first video is a DirectX full screen game (Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon) recorded at 60fps 1920x1200. It is just 37 seconds long but the file is pretty big (82MB) as it is done to show you the quality of the recording.
-The second video (164MB) is a direct comparison between the Camtasia Recorder and Mirillis Action! (desktop animation and game side by side).

As Action doesn't come with any Editor, you need to know that it works fine with Camtasia Studio but Camtasia Studio is limited to 30fps so I recommend to stick with that using Action.
Action needs admin privilege to record at full screen which is probably the reason why Camtasia is unable to do what Action is doing as Camtasia need to run using normal user privilege.
