I was recording a guest speaker in my class today using Fuse on my iPad. At the end of class, I didn't have a chance to upload the recording to the school's Camtasia server, I just put my iPad to sleep (expecting that I'd finish that in my office after helping our speaker get out the door). When I turned it on again - the video was gone! This was a rare opportunity and I was hoping to use the video in one of my other classes also, so it's a real disaster to lose it.

Is there any way to "recover" a video that hasn't been uploaded yet, using Fuse on iPad?

Apparently not. Perhaps the Fuse documentation should be a little more clear:

* If you can't be 100% sure of your internet connectivity while using this product, and immediately after: Don't bother using this, you'll lose your content.

* If you can't devote time immediately following use of this product to watch and make sure that your video uploads: Don't bother using this, you'll lose your content.

* If any circumstance leads you to flip away from this product while you're (hoping to be) recording video: Don't bother using this, you'll lose your content.

In other words - *expect* to lose content.

I'm sorry we didn't respond to you sooner. One of moderators of this forum sent us a message and we missed it. I apologize on behalf of the team.

We know of no bugs with Fuse that would just cause a video to disappear like this. Have you logged into your Camtasia Relay server as a presenter to see if it exists in your presentation history? It is possible that the presentation got uploaded, produced and processed and if your Relay admin didn't set up any notifications for that presentation, you just never got any notification indicating that it was done.

To address your points...
1. You don't need an Internet connection to use Fuse. It can and will upload presentations after the fact. Also, if you're concerned about keeping a copy of the video, Fuse allows the ability to choose a video from the recorded videos that exist on your iOS device.

2. As I've mentioned, we know of no situations where this occurs. If you did experience a problem like this, our free Tech Support can help you figure out where your video went or what happened to it.

3. Same as #2.

Once again, I'm sorry we haven't responded sooner. We will be happy to help you figure out what happened to your video. Please contact our support team (http://support.techsmith.com) or email me at the address below and we'll help you out.

Sincerely,
