Hello

I would like to know if we add the function 'Loop indefinitely or play ... time (S)' for the export gif in Camtasia 2018. This feature was available in Camtasia 8 .. I do not understand why having removed this option in version 9 ....

in both CS9 and CS2018, if you make a gif using a custom production, you will see that "loop indefinately" is enabled by default

why are you disappointed?

your post suggest that you want the ability to loop a GIF indefinitely; that function is in both CS9 and CS2018

Kayakman, he's asking why GIFs in 2018 can ONLY be made to loop indefinitely.

I second this comment. We need the ability to specific a custom play-back for GIFs. Yes, it is awesome that GIFs can loop indefinitely, but if I want a GIF to loop 1x, or 3x, or 5x, I shouldn't have to download Hex code editor to make that happen.  Please return this function to Camtasia 2018--it was the only reason I used Camtasia over other video editing tools.

I'm using the Trial of 2018 as I consider upgrading from CS8.

This is a big loss for me because when I create banner ads or other GIFs that need to be on 1 loop or only 3 loops, I'll have to use some other software on top of CS 2018.  :-(

Please bring back the option to edit the number of loops to GIFs made in CS 2018!

Thanks!

I'm on 9.  I would have upgraded today if this feature had been restored.

Can someone from TechSmith explain why this is such a big deal? The feature used to be there (cs8) , then it stopped working (cs9) , then it is removed cs2018.

Why remove a feature that is so useful?

have you considered using CS8 to make your GIFs?

that's a workaround, not a fix.

Can you explain the apparent removal?

I don't work for TechSmith, so can't eplaine why removed; I don't do GIFs myself and never noticed this issue

but workaround or not, using CS8 should get the job done

I rarely do GIFs myself.  I'm just advocating for it no different than if it was a feature that I did use frequently.  If it's supposed to work, it should be there.

As someone who has bought several SnagIt licenses and own both CS8 and CS9 licenses, I do think it is a legitimate issue and TS owes these paying customers and othe bulk license users some sort of explanation.   Techsmith does review these boards regularly.

If I have time and remember, I will submit a support ticket and link it to these threads.   I recommend other posters do the same.

OMG. Just spent the morning building out an animated gif in Camtasia 2018, and now I can't use it for client because I can't stop after 1 loop? Dude, ... how can this NOT be an option?

Will these options be sufficient to satisfy your needs on animated GIF loop count?

As always no official guarantees on timeline / version.

Out of idle curiosity, what would be the difference between 1 and No Value? I might think both would result in the same behavior.

No value would be to let the gif go wild and do what it wants to do
because well, it has no values.   :)))

By default if you don't enter a value you will get infinite loops. If you select No Value it's just going to return the app settings to it's default configuration.

Are the looping values provided enough?

I personally myself would say that range would cover the gamut of most needs

LMAO at Dubie's comment on "going wild".

I'd say it's like the Godless heathen I am. No values and running wild!

Additionally, I also agree with Dubie on the range.

Brooks,
The options would be sufficient for me (any option just allowing to not loop at all would be enough actually ;-)). When will we get that? Part of Camtasia 2019?
thanks and regards,
Francois

Where are these options within Camtasia 2019 (mac). The only way I know of to create a GIF to by going to Share > Local File > Animated GIF. The options shown are not displayed in this menu.
