Glow (and other modern borders)

Just a suggestion, nothing urgent, but the borders are looking a bit old. I was surprised to find that there was no way to implement some more modern border styles, such as:
1. Glow - Basically the same as a shadow, except that the current shadows only drop to one corner. Glow goes all 4 directions. If you just allowed all 4 directions to toggle, that would have done it (actually, that's what I expected to be able to do.)
2. Padded borders - For example, 1px gray border, 3px white padding, image in the middle

The ability to add a shadow in all directions is a great idea-- in fact, the Mac version of Snagit currently has this ability.

Regarding padded borders, you can do this currently by stacking two or more borders on top of each other. After you've added the first border, choose a new color and a new one is added.

Matt - I think this is a pretty urgent item actually.  A drop shadow to only one corner is nice, but for a thumbnail of a white sheet of paper it's useful to have a shadow/glow in all directions so that there's a relief to the top/left edges for the thumbnail.   Put simply, a white box on a white background doesn't work real well unless the shadow runs to all sides, not just two...  Stacking shadows is a multi-step shadow/save/shadow = awkward at best.  Thanks.

Perfect. I didn't realize I could stack borders like that. Thanks!

Hello,

Any ideas if the ability to add shadow effect to all 4 sides will make it to the Windows version?
