Hand writing cursor

I would like to make a photo of my hand with a pen and use this in place of the cursor so it looks as though I'm writing on a PPt slide. Please could you tell me how to do this? I'm using Camtasia Studio 8 on Windows Vista with Office 2010.  I'm a newcomer to this forum and have done some searching but couldn't find exactly the same problem.
Thank you!

Hi there

You would probably be interested in a software application that does this. There are a few out there. Personally, I have purchased Easy Sketch Pro versions 1 and 2.

Easy Sketch is a one time purchase. There is another product called "VideoScribe" that is a subscription.

I'm unaware of a way to accomplish it with just PowerPoint. Maybe someone else knows a way.

Cheers... Rick :)

Thanks Rick.
I had heard there is a way of taking a photo of your hand holding a pen and then using that as the cursor in Camtasia, but I don't know how to do it!

Hi all,
There is a way to achieve this effect in Camtasia, though it requires a bit of a workaround. Once set up, it's easy to use over and over again.
I explained the whole process in this video: http://screencast.com/t/i0ZwGBGGuqd

You will need to run an older version of Camtasia because the new .TREC format in Camtasia Studio 8.4 no longer supports this workaround. Not a problem because Camtasia Studio 7 and Camtasia Studio 8 can be run parallel to each other. You can grab an old version from here: http://www.techsmith.com/download/oldversions.asp

I hope this answers your questions. Good luck trying it out!
PS: If your cursor appears to be aligned at the center rather than the top left corner, here is the fix: http://screencast.com/t/EQKn46rxi
