What does SnagIT send to Hockeyapp.net every time I take a screen shot?  My work gives a license to SnagIt (we have hundreds of licenses), and I work with a lot of proprietary info that I take captures of.  I'm concerned that every time I take a capture, SnagIT and SNagIT helped both try to connect hockey app.net.  What is it sending?

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us. We use Hockeyapp to track crash logs and very basic information like what version of macOS you're running. Don't worry, we're definitely not uploading your captures anywhere! As for why it's sending a request every screenshot, i'm not entirely sure, we'd have to look into that. I hope this answers your question!

Thanks, Luke.  It would be interesting to know.  I control stuff like this through my firewall, but that often ends up messing with the functionality of the program.  I really like SnagIT, but I don't see why it has to send something to some third party for every capture that I take.   If I am going to miss some functionality in SnagIT by blocking this traffic that would be good to know.  Else if Hockeyapp is just tracking stats and crash info then I think I should be OK to block it.  Thanks for the prompt response!

Everything in Snagit should still work just fine without it, so it's safe to block if you need to.
