Heavy-handed moderation

I posted a question 4 days ago (which included a weekend) and today my post has been marked as closed with the following explanation:

"The community moderator provided the following reason for archiving: Inactive threads; archiving to prevent necroposing"

Seriously? How about providing time for people to respond before you kill a post?

Hi There;

I'll look into this to see what the issue is; it could be that it was accidentally archived and if it was, I'll re-open the thread.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Hi there

Actually, I believe this is the first time for me that I've seen such activity. I'm guessing it was a mistake. But I'm not sure. All I can do as a fellow user is to say that it's unusual and we don't normally see what may be interpreted or described as "heavy handedness" here.

Hopefully one of the TechSmith folks will chime in to offer some insight.

Cheers... Rick :)

Hi bnystrom,

I did find your other post and have reopened it and it appears that it was an accident. The contents of the post are well within the community guidelines so it appears to have been a slip of the finger with regards to it being archived.
